I mainly draw portraits. To me, nothing is more visually compelling than an interesting human face. I love the unconventional beauty of wrinkly, imperfect faces.

I also like curious, poetic moments in time that capture a tiny story.

I like drawing with pencils, as it reminds me of being a kid and gives me a nice feeling of contentment as the drawing emerges.

I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil.

But my practice really developed in later life after I went through a highly stressful experience in which I was under police protection for four months, due to a criminal gang trying to kill me and my family (long / true story).

Having survived to tell the tale, I began drawing as a form of self-therapy - it provided a meditative flow-state that really soothed my frayed nerves. To this day drawing keeps me grounded and sane.
